Controlled

Life is short!  Life is wonderful!  But at times, people may have some hurtful experiences.  Experiences that take a lot of energy, time, and understanding to heal in oneself.

Years ago, I was in a restaurant with a bunch of friends.  I was excited to visit with all of them.  I had not seen them for at least 9 months.  There were so many of us, we ended up sitting at several tables that were put together for us.

And so, it was very hard to visit with the friends who were at one end of the table.  After talking for a while, I just sat there and looked around the rectangle-shaped table.

I watched as each small group of friends interacted with each other.  For the most part, they all seemed to have a good time.  But then I noticed one friend.  She had been enjoying talking to others at her end of the table. But she felt off.

She had an invisible, large, thick, brick wall around her.  At the time, I understood it to say, "I do not want to talk to you."  But looking back, I believe it was her way of protecting herself against anyone from hurting her.  I am not sure of the circumstances in why she had this thick wall around her, but I'm sure it is related to fear.

My photo shows a full-grown tree growing in an old silo.  When we choose to grow in controlled environments, we do not have a high-quality life.  We live in these shelters with fear as our partners.

When we live in controlled environments, we are unable to grow to our fullest extent.  Living in a controlled environment is lonely, boring, and oppressive.

It's like aquarium fish.  They live in an aquarium (controlled environment) that is the same- same sites, same foods, and same aquarium fish.  It's a predictable life.  They may live longer in this aquarium, but at what cost to themselves?

Do these aquarium fish get to experience the excitement of a new school of fish?  Do they get to experience their natural habitat in the wild?  Do they get to have as much room to live as they want?  Do they get to live like they were meant to in an aquarium?  No.

Many people tend to experience hurt in life regarding another person or a past incident.  They keep this experience locked up inside, not allowing it to heal and leave.

Many of these people who control themselves also will try to control others in life.  They will project their pain on to other people and other experiences if it is like when they were hurt.

Is it more joyful to live life in a controlled environment?   Is it safer?

But then safe does not equal enjoyment of life.

Some questions to ask yourself.  Are you keeping yourself in a self-made embankment?

Embankment because we are holding back (damming up) our natural flow of water (emotions).

Allow your water to flow!  Face the fear.  Face the hurt and allow the experience to remain in the past.

Let go of the hurt and fear.  Take a chance on life!  Take a chance on people.  Take a chance on allowing yourself to flow and grow again.

I have used all procedures I have written about and have found them to be helpful as tools to help myself become a better person.   I am sharing them with you because used as a tool, they are helpful in Shadow working on ourselves.  (Shadow working is healing our inner shadows that are unconscious or subconscious.  Inner shadows are our belief systems, our thoughts, our behaviors, our life experiences.)

I created this blog for my Reiki clients originally.  Combining these tools with Reiki creates a happy, healthy person.  These tools, when used alone are also beneficial!
